Georgy Filippovich Baidukov (1907–1994) on July 20–22, 1936, made a nonstop flight on the ANT-25 from Moscow across the Arctic Ocean via Petropavlovsk-Kamchatski to the Udd Island (now the Chkalov Island in the Amur delta) as second pilot (with V.P. Chkalov as commander and A.V. Belyakov as navigator) covering a distance of 9,374 km in 56 hours and 20 min.  For that flight G.F. Baidukov was awarded the Order of Lenin and the title of Hero of the Soviet Union on July 24, 1936.  The same crew flew the ANT-25 in another nonstop flight from Moscow across the North Pole to Vancouver (Washington, USA) on June 18–20, 1937.
