Yuri Traisman has one of the better known collections of authentic works by non-conformist artists. His collection is comprehensive and representative: leading masters of the trend are represented by their best pieces, dating both to an earlier period and to our day. Between 1998 and 2008 this collection was exhibited at nine world museums within the framework of the “Forbidden Art” exhibition project. The exhibition catalogue, to which foremost Russian and foreign scholars contributed, has become one of the first fundamental publications about non-conformist art.
Yuri Traisman’s collection also includes some fundamental works of official Socialist Realism artists celebrating important events in the life of the nation and its leaders.
