Leningrad Art Glass Factory, 1970s

Astvatsaturian, Aknunii Arsenovich (1925–2010), finished a Rostov art school and in 1961 graduated from the Mukhina Higher Industrial Art School of Leningrad. In the first half of the 1960s he worked at the Vosstanie (Uprising) factory (Chudovo, Novgorod Region). In 1965 he joined the Leningrad Art Glass Factory as an artist and from 1975 to 1985 served as its chief artist. He worked at the factory until it was shut down in 1997. He was granted the honorary title of the Merited Artist of the Russian Federation and won the Repin State Prize of the Russian Federation in 1979.
