Vase with Lenin’s portrait and the dates 1870–1970 below
1970

Russia

Uncolored cut glass with red (selenium?) coloring, cutting, engraving

Height 78.7 cm (31")

The vase was made for the birth centenary of the world proletarian leader V.I. Lenin. Practically any Russian cut glass factory could produce such an intricate large-size decorative piece with multiple décor. The Gusevsky and Dyat’kovo cut glass factories and the Krasny gigant factory are the most likely producers of this particular piece.

Lenin’s portrait copies one of the most popular poster representations, which can also be seen on the Soviet Young Communist League badge.
