Height

Shuvalov, Evgraf Sergeyevich (1912–1985), a Merited Artist of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic and Repin State Prize winner, born in Dyat’kovo, Bryansk Gubernia. In 1935 he graduated from the Perm Art Teachers Training College, worked as designer at the Dyat’kovsky Crystal Glass Factory from 1950 on and served as factory chief designer between 1961 and 1974.

The vase was designed in 1947 for the 800th anniversary of the foundation of Moscow. Soviet glassworks and cut glass factories produced a series of decorative souvenir vases with typical Moscow sights.
